China's State Councilor calls for advancing higher education
Aug. 24, China's State Councilor Liu Yandong called for advancing the country's higher education while attending a meeting on college development issues held here on Sunday and Monday.
She urged speeding the development of higher education focused on Chinese characteristics, improving the quality of education, and exploring new ways for training talented students.
She also spoke of requiring colleges and universities to launch reforms in the administration system, and increase their cooperation to share resources with enterprises, scientific institutions, and overseas organizations.
