Undergraduate Commencement Held in Tsinghua
Tsinghua University's undergraduate commencement ceremony was held on July 21, at which diplomas were awarded to 3,144 students.
In his commencement address, President of Tsinghua and Chairman of the degree Conferral Committee Gu Binglin extended his congratulations to the students. He noted that the students’ experiences in their four years at Tsinghua will be lifelong memories. He hoped that the students would bear Tsinghua mottos in mind, pursue excellence in their future study and work, and contribute to the development of the nation. “I hope you can develop a first-class career and become the backbone of China,” said the President.
President Gu Binglin, University Council Chairman Hu Heping, Deputy President Chen Jining, Vice President Kang Kejun, Vice President Xie Weihe, University Council Vice Chairperson Han Jingyang, Vice President Cheng Jianping, University Council Vice Chairperson Shi Zongkai, University Council Vice Chairperson Deng Wei, and Vice President Qiu Yong awarded degrees and certificates to the new graduates.
