Zhejiang University is an institution of higher learning with a long history and a distinguished reputation. It is located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city and a scenic tourist destination in China. Zhejiang University is structured into seven faculties containing a total of 40 schools, colleges and departments. Among them, Haining International Campus is was open in 2016, which offers transnational education in its joint institutes. It is located in Haining (literally meaning “sea placid”) that is a county-level city 125km west of Shanghai and 60km east of Hangzhou. The city is known for its leather industry and spectacular tide in the Qiantang River.
In order to further bring into play Zhejiang University’s remarkable advantages in engineering education and also the resources and strength of international talent training in the university’s Haining International Campus, and to enroll more prospective outstanding international students in engineering field, Zhejiang University offers the following Eglish-taught undergraduate engineering programs:

1. General requirements
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health. Applicants must be valid foreign passport holders and have graduated from high school (Those who provide pre-graduation certificate or student status certificate at application MUST provide senior high school diploma no later than registration) and be under the age of 25.
2. Requirements on Citizenship
Requirements of the regulations set in the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC should be met.
---2.1 Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship (including residents in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan)and become foreign citizens, must acquire foreign citizenship before April 30, 2021, and must have lived abroad more than 2 years from April 30, 2021 to April 30, 2025 (more than 9 months of residence abroad per year can be considered as one year, taking entry and exit stamps as evidence).
---2.2 If the applicant has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was a Chinese citizen, parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent resident in foreign country should be obtained prior to the birth of the applicant. Applicants must have lived abroad more than 2 years from April 30, 2021 to April 30, 2025 (more than 9 months of residence abroad per year can be considered as one year, taking entry and exit stamps as evidence).
3. Language proficiency requirements
There are no Chinese language proficiency requirements for the applicants of English-taught programs. If applicants’ native language is not English, they should provide score report of English language test (e.g. TOEFL/IELTS/OTHER).Specific requirements could be found in the catalog of English-taught undergraduate programs.
1. A photocopy of passport front page.
2. Senior high school diploma. Those who provide pre-graduation certificate or student status certificate at application MUST provide senior high school diploma no later than registration.
3. Academic transcripts for all the courses in senior high school.
4. Language proficiency certificates.
5. Personal statement.
6. Two recommendation letters from high school teachers.
7. Award-winning Certificates related to academic courses during senior high school period. (If applicable)
8. Applicants who have given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens shall provide:(1)Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese citizenship (2)Documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese household registration (3)Documents certifying the acquirement of foreign citizenship (4)Exit and Entry Record on passport (5)Self-Statement Form of Nationality Status and Nationality Confirmation and Guarantee Letter.
9. Applicants who have acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was a Chinese citizen shall provide:(1) Documents certifying acquiring foreign citizenship at the time of birth (2)Documents certifying parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent residence in foreign country before the birth of the applicant (3) Exit and Entry Record on passport (4)Self-Statement Form of Nationality Status and Nationality Confirmation and Guarantee Letter
10. Applicants under the age of 18 (by September 1st) should submit Letter of Guardian Guarantee and the guardian must be an adult living in Chinese mainland.
11. Commitments for Zhejiang University Undergraduate Application.
Fee: 800 RMB yuan/academic year
According to the regulations of Ministry of Education, international students must purchase comprehensive medical insurance in the mainland of China as a necessary requirement for their registration for the new semester.
Students who fail to purchase the comprehensive medical insurance as required will NOT be registered by the university.
