Kun Iam Tong or Guan Yin Temple is a Buddhist temple dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy (Guan Yin). It was first founded in the 13th century then rebuilt in 1627. It is one of the biggest temples in Macau and also the very place where the representative of Qing Dynasty signed the unequal treaty with the Portuguese. The temple consists of Mahavira Hall, Longevity Hall, Kun Iam Hall and a peaceful Zen courtyard. The Mahavira Hall enshrined three Buddha, one of them is the grand Buddha Sakyamuni. The second worshiped Longevity Buddha and the Kun Iam Hall, surely enshrined the Goddess of Mercy. This well decorated and furnished temple is really worthy a visit.
