Crown Prince of The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Meets with SHNU Party Secretary

A delegation from The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, headed by H.R.H Crown Prince Guillaume, H.R.H Crown Princess Stéphanie, and Etienne Schneider the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, paid a visit to Shanghai on Dec. 17. SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei attended the reception hosted by the crown prince and princess at the invitation of Luxembourg consulate general in Shanghai.

Lu briefed the royal couple on SHNU’s latest communication and exchanges with Luxemburg, hoping they could help promote the establishment of Confucius Institute in Luxembourg. Crown Prince Guillaume affirmed the achievements of educational exchanges between Luxembourg and SHNU and said he was willing to give active support to future cooperation between the two parties.
 
In his opening speech of the reception, Mr. Guillaume specially introduced the fruits and future intentions of cooperation between SHNU and educational institutions of his country. He thought this marked the expansion of cooperation between Luxemburg and Shanghai from economy to education.
 
The meeting of Guillaume and Lu Jianfei indicated wide-spread influence of the cooperation between SHNU and education circle of Luxemburg. Since 2012 when SHNU first visited the country, the educational exchanges have been deepened constantly.
 
In April this year, the Emerson Middle School had the first exchange visit of teachers and students with SHNU and the two set up a middle school student exchange base. In November, SHNU delegation discussed cooperation intention with many government sectors and educational institutions and signed a framework agreement on education cooperation with Chinese Language and Culture Center of Luxemburg.
