NPU Is Awarded the “Advanced Support Unit for Administration during 2011-2015”by NSFC

On December 13, NSFC(Natural Science Foundation of China) held a conference in Beijing on 2016 administration of Natural Science Foundation and an award ceremony to commend the support units which have made remarkable achievements in the managements of NSFC projects, the regional communication networks and their administration staff during the period of the twelfth Five-year Plan. NPU was awarded the honor titles of “the Advanced Support Unit for Administration” and “the Advanced Worker for Fund Management” respectively. Director Yang Wei of NSFC, Vice Directors of NSFC He Minghong, Liu Congqiang, Gao Wen, Gao Ruiping, and a total of 300 representatives from 115 support units across the country, 29 regional science and technology agencies or funds, various NSFC bureaus, and other public institutions attended the conference.

Up to December 14, NPU has altogether got 204 projects approved by NSFC in 2016, which has been the first time for NPU to surpass 200 projects approved in one year. With a successive increase in 5 years, NPU has reached an average funding rate of 33% towering over the national average one. Meanwhile, NPU has also obtained 1 Project of National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, 3 Projects of Excellent Youth Science Fund, 5 key projects, achieving a good start for the thirteenth Five-year Plan. In future, the NPU Division of Scientific and Technological Research Management will optimize the environment for fundamental research so as to make further progress in the management of natural sciences funds and help to elevate NPU’s fundamental research level.
