Notes:

Applicants in any Chinese-medium program should inform our admissions office of their Chinese proficiency (beginner/lower intermediate/intermediate/upper intermediate/advanced level) during the application.

Applicants in the English-medium Foundation Program should provide the TOEFL iBT 60 or above/IELTS 5.0 or above/certificate of English as the instruction language during previous studies. Applicants from countries with English as official language can be exempted from the above documents.

PhD applicants must apply for an acceptance letter from supervisors in order to get admission.

Notes:

China University of petroleum will have a review of scholarship for new international students. Scholarship will be cancelled if the average score is not above the pass mark.

China University of petroleum will have an annual review of scholarship for international students. The review will lead to 4 conclusions: upgrade, maintain, degrade and terminate.

China University of petroleum would terminate the scholarship if scholarship students skip classes or fail exams.

Application materials:

1. Bachelor and foundation course:

Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years of age.

Passport copy. Passport must be valid for at least 12 months.

High school diploma and transcript. Applicants that have not graduated should provide a study certificate.

English/Chinese Language proficiency certificate

Financial support statement

Employment certificate or non-criminal record required from those graduated over 12 months.

2. Master:

Master’s applicants should be under 35 years of age.

Doctoral applicants should be under 40 years of age.

Passport copy. Passport must be valid for at least 12 months.

Master’s applicants: bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript

Doctoral applicants: master’s and bachelor’s certificates and transcripts.

Applicants that have not graduated should provide a study certificate.
