Chinese Characters VS English Vocabulary
When I was in the primary school, Chinese lesson was my headache. I would shed tears over the loss of getting full marks. Today I still clearly remember how the Chinese character “真” puzzled me during the exam and eventually cost me my full mark. In my early years of learning Chinese, in order to learn Chinese well, I was always trying to figure out how many horizontal parallel lines inside Chinese characters like “直”, “真” and “宜”. To learn Chinese characters well, written practicing is crucial. “Practice makes perfect.” With enough practice, infallibility is not difficult to achieve.
However, English vocabulary memorizing requires both written practice and oral practice. Compared to Chinese characters, English vocabulary has an advantage that its pronunciation has something to do with its spelling, thus it is recommended to involve ear, mouth and brain while memorizing English words. So there are some patterns in memorizing words.
Learning a language is by no means a pleasant job, especially learning Chinese, just try to prepare you for the trials that you will face in the Chinese lesson or English ones. Life has determined to throw disappointments and heartaches and loneliness and struggles and pain into your path. If you have the courage to spurn away the rocks in your way, you can certainly learn Chinese, English and all kinds of languages well.
